We know Betsy Ross as a seamstress and flagmaker.

Can you imagine being visited by George Washington, our country’s first president, and being asked to stitch a flag?  And according to family legend, she is the one that convinced Pres. Washington to change the shape of the star from a 6 pointed star to a 5 pointed star.

One day I was cutting fabrics with a template but it kept slipping and I was getting irregular cuts, no matter what I did to counteract it.  I tried a clear vinyl that was made to keep rulers from slipping.  I tried sticky dots.  Only parts of the fabric stayed in place.  I tried hot glue but couldn’t get it even enough.  I tried sandpaper circles.  Those worked like the sticky dots.  CALGON!!  Someone suggested 404 spray.

It was definitely worth a try!
